Transfer Talk

Berbatov to AC, Milner to City, Clichy to nowhere…

Something funny about “seeing the back of Berbatov”

Fans of both football and showbusiness will surely be delighting in today’s news concerning Adrian Chiles joining the GMTV team. It’s always been The Spoiler’s opinion that his salt of the earth sarcasm would be just the tonic for a housewife embarking on a long day of mopping floors and scrubbing front steps. Good luck to him.

Elsewhere in the world, football journalists have been keeping their ears firmly locked to the ground, and here’s what we know, thanks to The Mirror, The Sun, The Daily Mail, The Telegraph etc… :

Having left United fans feeling rather discombobulated by his languid style of picturesque football, Dimitar Berbatov has been linked with a move to AC Milan – a club that deals heavily with aging players and football artistry. Apparently, a “source” said this:

“He is a stong player who would do well in Italy.”

“Whether something can be arranged remains to be seen.”

“It has been difficult for Berbatov in Manchester, but he is a good player who has a lot to offer.”

In other Manchester-related news, it looks like United will be going head-to-head with City in a bid to snaffle James Milner’s podgy thumb print in the summer. United presumably see him as the “new Owen Hargreaves”, whilst City might prefer to go for something rather more befitting of the club, like “the hairy Stephen Ireland”.

And down south in beautiful London, Arsenal’s resident French left back, Gael Clichy, has put paid to any further talk of a move to Barca, by saying this:

“I have two years left on my contract so it is not a question to answer.”

Great. That’s that, then.

What goes around comes around Berba. The way you left Spurs to rot was a disgrace. Posturing and refusing to even play.

I respect what Berba did for Spur, but the manner of his departure was out of order.

Karma is a bitch. Enjoy the retirement home @ AC Milan.

Berba fits into Italian football. He should prosper there.
