Great night for Inter, less so for Mario Balotelli
Balotelli - a bit moody
There was a great moment of genuine comedy during last night’s game, as it was pointed out that Balotelli had a strained relationship with Inter fans… partly because he’d openly pledged his allegiance to AC. The man, it appears, is a total maniac.
And as reported by our great pals over at Dirty Tackle, the evening proved to be yet another in a long list of football catastrophes for the gifted attacker, as he managed to further rile the supporters by botching a counter attack, making rude “oh screw you!” gestures at the disappointed fans, then hurling his shirt on the ground as he left the pitch ranting to himself. Then things took a real turn for the worst.
The whisper is that Marco Materazzi – a man not unused to spitting fuel on already lit bonfires – “attacked” the player as they headed to the dressing room. Barcelona’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic saw the lot and said this to Italian TV:
“I saw that Materazzi was attacking him in the players’ tunnel and I’ve never seen anything like it.”
“If I were him, I’d have left Mario alone, but Materazzi was attacking him and I was stunned.”
“If Materazzi had attacked me like that, I would’ve decked him in a second!”
“Materazzi was causing all sorts of trouble and in the Barcelona locker room we were amazed, all talking about it.”
“A player should be proud after a win, not chase down a 20-year-old to berate him.”
The angry teen was then hounded at his car as he attempted to slope off home in a huff.
Someone is NOT a happy bunny.

Ibrahimovic should mind his own business, what a snitch and a sore loser!

What ilBloggo said. Guess Zlatan was trying to find a way to contribute to the gossip for the evening, since the footballing hadn’t worked out for him.

Mario Balotelli is a great, great talent. And for all Jose’s skill as a manager. He has failed with Mario.
I could not imagine a scenario were Ferguson. Would not have found a way of harnessing his energy.

“harness his energy”? I think you mean “sold him off already because they don’t get along”, as is the typical Fergie way.

Mourinho never striked me as a manager who “nurtures” the young. Someone that young needs mentorship.
Fergie and Arsene Wenger are better at nurturing young talent.

I wonder sometimes about Italian fans. They seem to be very hostile at times. I don’t know much about Balotelli and his background, but for him to be so bitter at such a young age makes me wonder what happened to him.

what happened with Mario is…MONEY. money got to his head and so did everyone pumping up his ego to make him this big, bad player. the dude needs to grow up before doing anything else. throwing your clubs jersey on the ground? cmon now man, thats utter classlessness. yes i just said classlessness.

AC? Pledge his allegiance to air conditioner? Oh you mean Milan. Or AC Milan. Now I get it.

What’s hilarious is that Balotelli apparently doesn’t know how to operate his car. Notice that he accidentally popped the hood and had to ask a steward to close it for him.
