No, Sir Alex Ferguson won’t be retiring, thanks very much!
Ferguson – fit as a fiddle
Here’s a very short list of three for you: Sid James, Tommy Cooper, Eric Morcambe. Who knows what they all have in common? Funny? Yes, two of them were. Glasses? Well that’s just Eric Morcambe isn’t it? No, the one thing that all three have in common is that they worked right up until the end – only retiring from their jobs when the cold hand of death delivered the final devestating cock-punch. Work horses the lot of them.
Anyway, that’s trivia time out of the way. In a totally unrelated story, Sir Alex Ferguson has put paid to all of the silly rumours about him definitely retiring at the end of next season, despite the fact that Old Father Time will clock him in at pushing 70 by the end of the 2010/11 campaign.
He said this (as reported in the Daily Mail):
“It is rubbish.”
“There is no truth in it. I have no intention of retiring and if I did the people I would tell are David Gill and the Glazer family.”
“The only thing that determines whether I stay here is my health. And I am in rude.”
Right, next question. What do these three people have in common? Marcus Bent, Jermain Defoe, and Teddy Sheringham.
