World Cup Fever
Name your England World Cup team, based on NOW!
England’s front two… kind of
There is still much to play for in the Premier League, but pretty soon all eyes will switch to South Africa, and the various lessons learned from the current campaign might yet change the expected England line up. Way back in snowy December, The Spoiler had a crack at naming the England starting XI (you can see that here), but that was then.
Were the tournament kicking off tomorrow, The Spoiler’s XI would line up something like this (as a 4-3-2-1):
Goalkeeper: Joe Hart
Defenders: Glen Johnson, John Terry, Ledley King, Ashley Cole
Midfielders: Frank Lampard, Gareth Barry, James Milner
Attacking Midfielders: Aaron Lennon, Steven Gerrard
Striker: Wayne Rooney

I agree with the XI, but I’d rather have Gerrard playing long balls alongside Barry and Lamps, with Milner and Lennon stepping-over the opposite team’s full backs.

this is funny.
If this team played in the EPL, it would be 8th in the league.
