News in brief

Big happenings at Liverpool, and OMFG! It’s The Saturdays!

Arrghh, same outfit! Cringe!

The Saturdays

For those of you who don’t keep up with popular culture, The Saturdays are either the poor man’s Girls Aloud, or the oil baron’s Kandy Rain, depending on where you sit on the socio-economic scale. The Spoiler may not be able to name any of their songs, but that doesn’t mean that they’re not completely brilliant.

The big news over the weekend was that The Saturday’s joined the hardcore rapper Tinchy Stryder in performing some of their hit singles during a charity football match, geared towards raising money through the nation’s united love of football, and girlband music.

In other important news, here’s what we know (thanks to the likes of The Daily Mail, The Mirror, The Guardian etc…):

The revolving doors at Liverpool look set to hit whirlwind proportions in the next few weeks. Firstly, Juventus have reportedly demanded that Rafa Benitez stops cocking around, and makes his decision during the four-day week. The whisper being that Roy Hodgson could yet fill his slippers.

Both Barcelona and Man City have been put on beige alert with rumours going around that Torres is probably ready to knock his Liverpool career on the head now.

And Joe Cole is rumoured to be seriously considering a move to Anfield, should they be able to stump up his £120,000/week wage demands. If not, the most likely suitors are whispered to be Man City or Spurs. More specifically, whichever team manages to clinch the final Champions League spot.

But who will that be? Let us know with a comment.

Joe Cole would be a good signing this summer. We are in desperate need of new players and we must be one of the only clubs in the league to not have proper backup players. If Torres is out then we are stumped for quality, let alone decent strikers. Even midefield looks like its in need of an overhaul. Gerrard’s display this season has quite frankly been poor. Nowhere near the standards he had last year. Aquilani and Rodriguez have been very good buys yet Aquilani does not get enought time on the pitch even though time and time again he proves his worth. Van Der Vaart in to play behind Torres when Gerrard is out injured or next to Gerrard if they play a 4-3-2-1. Cole on the left, Rodriguez on the right and Aquilani or Mascherano playing center.

A new manager is definately in need because I just can’t see Benitez making anymore of a mark on Liverpool. Unless it’s a mark of shame.

Time to get rid of Wash N’Gog and the rest of the crud at our club.

Anyone seen Torres’s new hair cut? What a tiny head he has!
