The whisper from today’s Daily Mail is that England are still sweating over Gareth Barry’s botched up ankle, so are desperately attempting to come up with a holding midfielder solution – word being that Ledley King might just be the man to play the part of “water carrier” in the middle.
The other options would be Milner, Huddlestone, Carrick, Parker, or even plucking Steven Gerrard from his swishy attacking spot and putting some shackles around his ankles. But, should Barry fail to recover in time, who would YOU have fill his boots?
