Nicolas Anelka crashes his bike in a team building exercise
Second French star to suffer a vehicular mishap
France boss Raymond Domenech‘s increasingly perilous World Cup team building exercises have claimed another victim.
Just a week after William Gallas was left hanging out of an overturned dune buggy during a team race at their training camp in the French Alps, its being reported Nicolas Anelka took a tumble in a squad mountain bike ride yesterday.
Having decided a 50-minute slog up a hill in the pissing rain would bring the permanently surly group together, Domenech’s plan nearly backfired spectacularly as Anelka fell off his wheels in a particularly slippy section of track towards the end.
According to French reports the Chelsea striker escaped unhurt and managed to finish the ride, which was eventually won by Franck Ribery (Djibril Cisse came last.) Perhaps for his next team building exercise Raymond will try the risk-free option of a quiet night in with some beers and a PS3.
