Transfer Talk

“Torres to Chelsea” is totally in the bag… apparently

Imagine this, but they’re both in blue

Torres and Drogba

Make no mistake about it, The Spoiler is very well connected. We have secret squirrels all over the place, sniffing around, listening through walls by placing pint glasses against their cute little squirrel ears. If anything weird is going on, they report back.

One such squirrel dropped an intriguing bombshell over the weekend, with a suggestion that Chelsea have made a move for Fernando Torres, and, basically, it’s a done deal. Just a few loose ends to tie up, and barring a Stevie G inspired turnaround, he’ll be keeping Anelka on the bench next season.

You heard it here first.

Was one of those squirrels, by chance, positioned about two yards in front of Rob Green? It would explain a lot.

I’ve never heard such absolute sh*t…that this passes as a form of journalism is not only a surprise but it is disgraceful…your children will be born armless and suffer from lifelong diseases. Now I bet you’re thinking that’s wrong but there’s as much merit in that crap statement as there is in your rumour…what a bunch of crap…the only thing you “spoil” is the reputation of good sports journalism…perhaps you should leave your bedroom once in a while and do more than masturbate to your own voice pretending to be different professional footballers!

    Toll?

URFullershit, calm the fck down mate. It says APPARENTLY. The Sun and other reports have suggested much more strange transfers in the past.
On another note, as a Chelsea fan I am very excited =D, but seriously I doubt it.

(edited for being rather too loose with the language-Ed)

on another note i really hope he doesnt end up there otherwise the rest of the league is a bit fucked

  • Peter // June 14, 2010 at 2:05 pm

Keeping Anelka on the bench-unlikely if he has injury problems like at Liverpool…world class talent but I don’t consider him world class until he can actually play a whole season

  • Robbler // June 14, 2010 at 2:48 pm

He’ll probably get injured at the World Cup anyway so calm down, he’ll get fit by October, have a great run of form for a dozen games, look like the best there is, get injured, be out for about 6/8 weeks, get fit, start scoring again, look like the best there is, just in time for when the Champions league gets serious (knockout phase) and then……….oh, i forgot – Liverpool aren’t in it are they…………………..HAH,HAH,HAH,HAH,HAH,HAH,HAH,HAH, – What a conman that Rafa was

  • Here's the thing // June 14, 2010 at 3:51 pm

You lot appear to be about 14 year old, getting all excited and wound up over a baseless story. Chelsea have no money, they claimed that they would be self sufficient and what not, but they have to back Abromavich approx. 25 million a season. Torres would never go to a mediocre Champions League groups stage team like Chelsea anyway….he likes to win trophies, and important 1′s at that. Liverpool have got years of history….Chelsea started making theirs about 6 years ago…..and even with all that money, they havent been very good at that

  • Prakash // June 14, 2010 at 4:36 pm

Torres Drogba the two Hitmen of Chelsea for next season…too cool! As a chelsea fan can’t wait for that to happen… come join the Mighty Blues El Nino…

I just want to help those of you who are suffering from delusions: The Spoiler is not and never has been a “Newspaper,” the writer is not a “journalist,” there is no editorial board, and the “stories” wouldn’t make it into The Sun because they have “standards.”

But please, continue to be outraged by Josh’s click-generating headlines and RSS cribbed “news” reports.

Also, he doesn’t like people pointing this fact out, so my comments to be removed in 3… 2..

  • JM // June 15, 2010 at 12:14 am

I doubt this Torres sale, and think the mass exodus from Anfield will be out of England altogether (for the most part):

    Torres: Barcelona (50)
    Gerrard: Real Madrid (30)
    Mascherano: Inter Milan (30)
    Kuyt: Inter Milan (13)
    Babel: Juventus (10)
    Johnson: Manchester City (13)

  • emz // June 15, 2010 at 1:24 am

heres the thing – you think Torres wouldnt leave Liverpool for Chelsea because he wants to win important trophies?

Why dont you think about that statement for a second, ohh something seems to be not quite right there. Unless im mistaken recent years (the only ones in which Torres has played at l’pool and therefore the only ones relevant) seems chelsea have been a bit more flush with silverware than the scouse.

  • "Lets all laugh at Liverpool" // June 28, 2010 at 10:33 am

Im all for speculation and secret squirrels, purely because you get to see all the Liverpool fans squirm.

All the best players want to be in London ‘innit

Time for Liverpool to sell all their assets and move in with Everton with a ground share amirite?

  • Uh oh, make that Torres AND Benayoun to Chelsea | The Spoiler // January 12, 2012 at 7:18 pm

[...] Of course, the downside of garnering controversial inside knowledge is that it can land you on the front line, alone to face the barrage of knee-jerk abuse that comes with telling people something that they really don’t want to hear. Hence, much of the day has been spent learning not to take it personally when Liverpool fans call you a private part, just because you decided to pass on some rumours about Torres joining Chelsea.
