Heskey/Defoe conundrum – what would YOU do?
Defoe, Heskey… and a tramp?
There’s an old saying – used mainly to talk people down from ledges - about how when one door shuts, a window opens. Or something like that. The point being that a human being will always have an opportunity to do something useful with their time, be it at work, in their private lives, or whatever.
All of which leads extremely clumsily to Fabio Capello who has seen his midfield conundrum door slam shut with the availability of a fit Gareth Barry, only for a nagging striker window to open, with a soft breeze singing in, whispering the name “Jermain Defoe” over and over again into Capello’s addled mind. He said this regarding the team for the Algeria game (as reported in the Daily Mail):
“I have to decide about two positions.”
“The goalkeeper and the next forward. Heskey or Defoe.”
