Rejoice! Premier League 2010/11 fixtures released

It’s baaack…

The Spoiler now interrupts your regularly scheduled programming of World Cup 2010 sponsored by aggro, complaint and Nytol to bring you breaking news… the Premier League 2010/11 fixtures!

Now, due to top flight football having been driven batshit insane by money a long, long time ago, we can’t actually publish the official match list. You’ll have to go here or here to see it in full.

HOWEVER, as a consolation, The Spoiler was up into the wee hours last night, dreamily scribbling down its ideal opening games for the new season. Here they are, with official team names handily presented in Pro Evolution Soccer-style license-busting format (a key to which you can find here.) Any similarity to fixtures previous or future is purely coincidental:

West Midlands Viillage vs East London
Lancashire vs Merseyside Blue
Lancashire Oranges vs Lancashire Athletic
Middlebrook vs West London White
London FC vs West Midlands Stripes
Man Red vs Tyneside
Wearside vs West Midlands City
North East London vs Man Blue
Wolves vs The Potteries

Three of those games stick out like an entertaining match at a South African World Cup – Tyneside are getting a rather unfriendly welcome back to the top flight away to current runners-up Man Red, new boys Lancashire Oranges will be thrown straight into a local derby with Lancashire Athletic; and one of last season’s biggest grudge matches, North East London vs Man Blue, is getting revisited early. Genuinely tasty stuff.

What do you think – [if by some quirk of fate The Spoiler's predictions were to come true,] are we in for a treat on the first day back?
