Speaking as an Englishman in Scotland for many years, it was so reassuring to see Andy Murray bottle it once again, like an England manager at substitution time.

How the Jockanese derided any, “At least we qualified” counters for our poor performance. But now it’ll be, “At least we made the semis.” (Remember, Andy Murray is Scottish, not British.)

A Wimbledon semi is nothing Henman didn’t do so cross-border balance has been restored.
