Post Mortem

England need to be more like Spain, decides Ian Wright

Two great modern minds

Ian Wright

One of the many links between tournament football and sudden death is that both require a post mortem - so thank goodness for English football’s chief coroner, Dr Ian Wright.

He’s looked at things long and hard, studied tapes, peered down microscopes, probably stayed up until the small hours draining whiskey bottle after whiskey bottle, and finally, FINALLY, he’s cracked it – England need to be a bit more like Spain.

As featured in today’s Sun, here are a few choice cuts from Wrighty’s detailed scientific report:

“Watch a DVD of how Spain won the trophy!”

“All players and countries at the finals would have been under pressure to do well.”

And, in the greatest reveal of them all:

“Spain have the type of confidence you can only achieve from knowing you are the best.”

So now you know.

You can keep up with Wrighty every week in The Sun.
