CAN WE MAKE THIS PERMANENT?

Bastian Schweinsteiger wears Frank Lampard’s World Cup shirt in park football game

When ‘pretending to be your favourite footballer’ turns meta…

There’s something rather endearing about 1) a professional footballer still willing to have a kick-about with strangers in the park and 2) him doing it wearing a shirt recently acquired at a World Cup game. No being framed and hung above a pool table for Bastian Schweinsteiger.

We take it all back, Schweini.

    Now THERE’s a true fan!!

It’s too bad that American NFL football players dont have a similar tradition of trading jerseys after a game. It would be funny to see Brett Favre throwing footballs to high schoolers in Hattiesburg, Mississippi wearing a game worn Aaron Rodgers jersey.

It’s nice to see Schweinsteiger values this shirt even though at 80 caps and countless CL games he must have a huge collection of shirts at home.
    Talented, dedicated and classy.
