Carles Puyol offloads his crappy watches on Spain team
Pepe likes to wear his while disrespecting teammates’ clubs!
Last year Inter striker Samuel Eto’o demonstrated how to win friends and influence people by offering each of the Cameroon squad a £30k watch if the national side achieved qualification for the World Cup finals.
It appears shaggy haired defender Carles Puyol has taken a leaf out of his former teammate’s book by rewarding Spain‘s World Cup winning side with his own prize – one of his own vanity-brand watches, the CP5.
Designed in conjunction with whoever makes those watches you get inside little plastic eggs at fairground vending machines, Spanish sports paper Sport.es reports the timepieces cost upwards of €170 (a thoroughly shameless £140) each.
A beautiful gesture, Carles, but The Spoiler reckons La Seleccion would’ve preferred one of Eto’o's £30k jobs instead…
