Oh God! That’s Ryan Giggs! In New York!

 

For anyone new to the site, here’s the deal: earlier in the week, in a moment of mindlessly flicking through a discarded copy of OK! magazine, The Spoiler became unwittingly inspired.

So much so, that, at least once a day, there’s a shift in the vibe, as a microscope focuses on the less sleazy sides of being a professional sportsman/woman. Already this week, there have been short pieces on two Dutch weddings, Eva Longoria playing footie in heels, and a Spanish holiday. 

Now it’s Man United’s turn…

Some of United’s superstars (Scholesy, The Giggomatron, and Sir Alex Ferguson) enjoyed a wonderful day out in America’s unspoken capital, New York City - so good that they actually named it twice.

They were there on the strict orders of the extreme charity organisation, UNICEF, to raise money by scoring goals. Or something. They were attending “Goal for UNICEF”. Make of that what you will.

Judging by the sky, it was a pleasant day, but not amazing. Just normal really. Probably warm enough to leave your jacket at home, but a bit too cool to go topless. 

And, rather hilariously, old man Ferguson thought he’d show people how it was done.

Meanwhile, shy Paul Scholes was making awkward conversation with autograph hunters.
