Last night an imploding Aston Viila paid for their reluctance to pick a manager and stick with him in the immediate aftermath of Martin O’Neill’s departure, as they were dumped out the Europa League at the hands of Rapid Vienna – for the second season in a row.
Emile Heskey, whose general ineptitude is just boring now, put in a typically slapstick performance, while an irate Ashley Young looked the very model of a man playing with a transfer request tucked into his socks. It’s gonna be a long season for Villa fans…
