DEADLINE DAY
DONE DEALS: Konchesky to Liverpool, Hleb to Birmingham
Fulham defender follows Woy up north
Hidden amongst the mountains of rumour and stories of Ryan Babel taking over the skies, a couple of big deals have actually been confirmed today.
Liverpool have completed the signing of Fulham left-back Paul Konchesky on a four-year contract, with youth teamers Lauri Dalla Valle and Alex Kacaniklic going in the other direction. Meanwhile, Aliaksandr Hleb has wrapped up his season-loan deal from Barcelona to Birmingham.
Is that Liverpool’s fullback problem solved, then? Or will Hodgson be back in the market this time next year?
