Dirk Kuyt out for four weeks after Nani-esque ‘training ground bicycle kick’ injury
Lovable carthorse has mishap that kept Not-Ronaldo out of WC’10
Dirk Kuyt has officially been ruled out for action for the next month, having busted his shoulder attempting a bicycle kick in training with Holland.
The red-faced 30-year-old returned to Liverpool yesterday to undergo scans, with club doctor Peter Brukner concluding:
Dirk has damaged his shoulder at the A-C joint, which is between the collar bone and the shoulder. He is likely to be out for four weeks.
Which means ‘Wonderful World Cup Finalist Dirk Kuyt’* will miss the Reds’ trip to Old Trafford next Sunday. In a strange coincidence, the injury is almost of a carbon copy of Nani’s botched overhead kick which ruled him out of World Cup 2010 days before it started.
Perhaps we should just have a universal ban on spectacularly average players doing Marco van Basten impersonations in training.
