Roman Abramovich is building a £20m private nightclub under Stamford Bridge
Keep going lads, not far to getting leathered!
Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is splashing the petrodollars on a new £20m private club in the basement of Stamford Bridge’s East Stand, according to the Evening Standard.
The development, built on the site of the old Purple nightclub in Chelsea Village, will be based on a “gritty industrial design motif” (what is this, 1993?) and has space for 500 close friends, a £150,000 waterfall feature and a moving dancefloor. Clearly “500 close friends” isn’t an oxymoron when you’re a billionaire oligarch.
Construction is already nearly complete and the club expects to be christened, by John Terry weeing all over the bar, in December.
