OH, THE SHAME.

Ex-Spurs boss Ossie Ardiles rejected for Hereford job

Handling Klinsmann/Sheringham? Easy. Kenny Lunt? Less so

Hereford United – currently the worst team in the entire Football League, sitting at the foot of League Two – are claiming they have turned down a job application from Tot-ting-ham legend and five-up-front advocate Ossie Ardiles.

Ossie, who has also managed Newcastle, West Brom and top-filght teams in Japan, Croatia and Argentina was apparently one of the first to throw his hat into the ring to replace outgoing boss Simon Davey, but isn’t being considered as ‘right for the job’.

Says Hereford chairman David Keyte:

The first one in was Ossie Ardiles. He might spark the crowd up, but I don’t think he’s one for us overall. There are the usual suspects and I think we’ve passed the 20-25 mark in terms of applications so far.

Unless Keyte keeps a friendly working relationship with the ghosts of Bob Paisley and Brian Clough, The Spoiler would love to know which ‘usual suspects’ will have beaten Ardiles to the job.
