Jose Luis Chilavert accused of starting airport scuffle
Goalscoring goalie in arrival gate fisticuffs
Former Paraguyan national team goalkeeper and legendary dead-ball specialist Jose Luis Chilavert might soon be getting a visit from the law after being accused of smacking an agent in a row over transfer fee money.
Agent Pablo Seijas claims the argument started when the pair met at Ezeiza Airport in Buenos Aires, Argentina and carried on until they landed in Paraguay – where, as seen in the video above, they soon got into a sort of stop-motion Streetfighter II battle.
Seijas blubbed to local radio:
Chilavert demanded money from me for his supposed part in the transfers of Argentine players Rolando Zarate to Mexico and Sebastian Romero to Greece, but I told him I had nothing to do with those moves.
Chilavert fired back:
Seijas owes me money for the transfers of Zarate and Romero. He called me a starving Paraguayan and I cannot allow that.
Playground cusses FTW. Let’s remember Jose in happier times, lashing in penalties and free-kicks for club and country at the turn of the millennium.
