PROPER ACTING

Manchester United forget their troubles by larking around in Turkish Airlines TV spot

It’s got Bebe and everything

Too-cool-for-school Spoiler would love to be all cynical and glib about this Turkish Airlines ad, which will get its UK premiere during Manchester United‘s clash with Bursaspor tonight, but having watched it about four times in a row now, we’ll have to admit it’s actually pretty good.

It recalls Nike’s legendary World Cup ’98 ‘Airport’ spot, except with shit music and Dimitar Berbatov being frightfully urbane.

Rooney being portrayed as a liability, ooh err.

This advert will surely put an end to any speculation that Bebe does not figure in 1st team plans. If he’s good enough for Turkish Airlines then surely….

Van Der Sar catching a ball, those days seem so distant now….

Thought Berbatov was Gary Neville at first. Maybe that is Dimitar’s intention, if he styles himself like the mental Manc nobody will question his commitment.

Also, I assume the thinking behind this is:

Man U does a TV spot for Turkish Airlines and gets free TA flights in return.

My advice would be to save all those free flights for next season, there tends to be a few Turkish teams in the Europa League so United could be making a lot more trips to that part of the world.

Decent advert, but the song at the end sounds like it was written by a 3 year old!
