World Cup star Paul the Psychic Octopus is DEAD

English-born cephalopod passes quietly in sleep

Mirror Football are reporting claims in Germany that Paul the Psychic Octopus has died, aged 2.

Paul joined vuvuzelas and Larissa Riquelme’s breasts in international infamy this summer, after predicting the correct result in eight World Cup matches, including the final.

A spokesman from the octopus’ aquarium home said:

He appears to have passed away peacefully during the night of natural causes.

We may decide to give Paul his own small burial plot within our grounds and erect a modest permanent shrine.

Paul’s death follows the passing of another one of football’s most respected animals, Roy Keane’s dog Triggs, last month.
