Man Utd old guard offered one last big payday in Middle East
Giggsy, GNEV and Scholsey stand to make a lot. of. money.
Manchester United‘s aging stars are being lined up to make big money moves to Middle Eastern clubs, with Ryan Giggs reportedly being offered £200,000 a week to finish his career in Dubai.
The Sun are reporting ‘top outfits’ in the UAE league are putting together deals for Giggs and fellow O.A.P.s Paul Scholes and Gary Neville, including David O’Leary’s side Al-Ahli (who he’s currently steering into midtable).
A ‘club insider’ told The Sun:
Ryan is a legend at United and still an important part of the team but like Scholesy and Gary Neville, he can’t go on for ever.
He has always rejected moves but this is a very attractive way for him to end his career, a last big pay day in the sun.
The same goes for Scholesy and Nev.
Former Italy captain Fabio Cannavaro left for the Emirati coin earlier this summer and he seems to be doing alright for himself.
Still, it’s different for one-club players, isn’t it? Look at Raul. No matter how well he does in Germany, his CV will forever look slightly imperfect with one or two seasons of ‘Schalke 04′ tacked onto the end.
