Post yours in the comments section. Meanwhile, The Spoiler’s reads thusly:

    Fletcher is Scottish, how could he be on this list

    PJ, I can only assume that you are being arch ironic, or post ironic, or something equally beard stroking. Please, just please, don’t tell me that you meant that. If you did, we’re all doomed.

    “18-member squad must include at least 15 athletes less than 23 years of age. There is no age limit for the remaining three”
    (http://www.olympics.org.uk)

    Might have to re-consider that team!

    @Daryl
    Coleman is Irish not from GB. Great Britian includes England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Never include Ireland in GB. Got it? Good boy.

    Now that would be a team. One great team, better than great players competing in lame teams. Given would have to be the reserve goalkeeper yet again.

    GIVEN
    Richards Rio Dawson Coel

    Fltecher
    Gerrard Lampard

    Mc geady Bale

    Wazza !!

  • Matt // November 18, 2010 at 1:13 pm

    @jamjamus

    Once again you couldnt have given or McGeady…

    Don’t you people know we are a different country and are not in GB/UK?

    If it was GB & Ireland then fair enough, but its not, so don’t.

  • Darren // November 19, 2010 at 9:59 am

    Well said Matt. Ireland is not part of Great Britain, and this was done specifically and with forethought in order to keep John O’Shea from appearing in any team representing GB.

    Reminding people its an under 23 tournament! and needs to have some British players not just English, I think this is aa very good squad;

    Gk – C. Gordon* (scot)
    Df – G. Bale (wales), J.Evans (NI), C. Smalling (eng), K. Walker (eng)
    Mf – J.Wilshere (Eng), A.Ramsey (wales), D.Beckham* (eng) (captain)
    Fw – D.Sturridge (eng), W.Rooney* (eng)

    Subs – J.Fleck (scot), D.Welbeck (eng), T.Cleverley (eng), C.Jones (eng), C.Gunter (wal), K. Gibbs (eng), R.Taylor (wales) O.Norwood (NI)

    * denotes over 23

    Manager – Sir Alex Ferguson (scot) great with young players and as most of the team are Man U players he would be ideal and again its showing its a British not all English team, Kenny Dalglish would be assistant coach and Beckham acting as a player-coach mentor come captain
