Mixed news for Everton, Liverpool eye up Ireland
Ahh, great times
These really are depressing times for the people of Merseyside. Once so used to their reds and blues battling for big honours, a glance at the Premier League will tell you that not only are the Manchester equivalents now trouncing Liverpool and Everton, but that Anfield’s finest – on current form – are the 7th best side from the North of England. It’s enough to put you off your tripe.
Without wanting to dwell on this, former England poster boy David Beckham has delivered a cock punch of his own to Evertonians, by declaring himself totally uniterested in joining the club for a bit in January. His reasoning:
“I’m a Manchester United fan.”
In more positive news, it looks like Landon Donovan will be enjoying his usual dreamy Winter break, dragging Everton slowly up the league.
Up the road, past the moans and groans coming from Jamie Carragher’s bedroom window, the whisper going around Anfield is that Roy Hodgson is getting ready to splurge more money on football agents, by attempting to lure Stephen Ireland over to Liverpool. Presumably to play second fiddle to Steven Gerrard.
And in shocking news from Manchester, local lad Park Ji-Sung has been linked with a move to Sevilla.
