SWP to Villa, RSC to AC, and Chelsea take on Liverpool

SWP – in arctic training gear

Shaun Wright Phillips

If the rumours are right, not only did England’s bid not quite do it, it didn’t even remotely do it. Word has it that they managed two votes – the worst of all four mobs vying for the World Cup. Surely Beckham’s wild technicolour tale was worth at least three?

Anyway, The Spoiler is totally over this now. Here’s what else has been happening in the football world, in those stolen hours when everyone was convinced that football was coming home or something…

In a double dose of cryptic three-initialed Man City news, SWP has been linked with a January move to Aston Villa – to replace Ashley Young? – whilst AC Milan are supposedly keen to get their hands on the pop star RSC.

Down in London – where people have been spotted awkwardly milling around near London Bridge, with red facepaint tearfully leaking into white, the whisper on the street is that Chelsea are aiming a cock punch at Liverpool underpants with a massive bid for Gary Cahill from Bolton. He could’ve been the new Jamie Carragher, damn it.

And in two word news:

Schwarzer, staying.

That is all.

To replace Young? Who plays as our attacking midfielder and not winger, right?… Do your homework, Young’s not leaving.
