Mancini clearing away any remnants of Mark Hughes
One of these men is particularly bad with money
Like the young idiot Icarus who decided to fashion himself some expensive wings and fly around the world, the robed men at Man City are now realising that the higher you soar, the more you wish that you had better wings. These ones are getting old and tatty. Did Mark Hughes make them?
All of which leads in an explosive fashion to news that Mancini - the new Icarus – shall be early Spring cleaning this year by booting out any player bought by Mark Hughes during his preposterous £120million summer splurge from 2009.
£92million of which booty will reportedly be up for sale in January. Including:
Joleon Lescott (bought for £22million)
Wayne Bridge (bought for £12million)
Shay Given (bought for £6million)
Roque Santa Cruz (bought for £18million)
Shaun Wright-Phillips (bought for £9million)
Emmanuel Adebayor (bought for £25million)
Could any of these be described as “money well spent”?
