Bayern Munich reveal interest in signing Leighton Baines

Bayern Munich have all but confirmed they’re ready to put in a big money bid for Everton left back Leighton Baines in the winter transfer window, following scouts from the Bundesliga club being spotted eying up the defender during his last two home games.
Bayern chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge sent club coaches to run the rule over the in-form 26-year-old at Everton’s matches against West Brom and Wigan and has since announced his transfer plans, saying:
We want a left-back, and we mean to sign one in the January window.We need a left-back, because that is the position that has to be strengthened. We are ready to buy a new player for this side of our defence this winter, but he must be of the highest quality.
If a transfer were to go through, Everton would be in firmly driving seat with regards to fee, considering Baines signed a five-year contract last season.
