Dear Manchester City, please sign me. Love Edin Dzeko x
Bosnian forward has one destination in mind this winter
Edin Dzeko, the coveted Wolfsburg striker who you’ve no doubt been told – at length – is awesome by someone who has never seen him play, has written a letter to Manchester City asking nicely if they’d give him a home this winter.
In a change from the typical transfer-related dispatch (i.e. the infamous ‘thanks, but you must be joking’ note Rivaldo delivered to White Hart Lane many moons ago), Dzeko has earnestly followed up interest the Manchester club showed this summer, expressing his admiration for the team and thanking them for their conduct during the last transfer window.
Negotiations between Wolfsburg between and City reportedly fell at the first hurdle in August, after the Bundesliga club refused to budge on the £45m (!) valuation.
However, Dzeko’s reps have been kept sweet since the deal broke down, recently being taken on a tour around City’s training ground and invited to last month’s Manchester derby (during which one was reported to have died from boredom, R.I.P. Hans) As such, relations between the two parties remain healthy.
Does this mean Tevez gets his wish?

Dzeko would be a superb buy for us, he would fit into the Premier League easily, and score goals for us,plus provide a physical presence up-front, and the added bonus it seems that he is well up for coming, not having to be persuaded. Young, hungry and desperate to play for us, sounds good to me!!!!

The Guardian’s German correspondent calls him the most technically gifted target man in Europe. Check him out on YouTube. what is most notable for me is that he’s a big long feller who seems to be able to stretch his body the entire length of the pitch and scores half his goals with his head.

Dzeko has been very patient about a move for some time now. I think he feels that he was promised a move abroad some time ago if he first stayed a little while and helped to bring Wolfsburg forward. After winning the title, they slipped badly last season, and I believe they are 14th now in their table, so the McLaren Era may soon become the McLaren Error.
He’s a terrific all-round striker who is intelligent, versatile and a fine finisher, be it with his head or either foot. Consistently makes good runs and can pull a central defensive tandem completely out of shape at times. A real potential threat on set pieces, an area where City needs improvement.
He’s young, not having reached his peak yet as a player, and he just might, as a Muslim, appreciate playing for a Muslim-owned club. He’s done his time at Wolfsburg and has consistently been a key performer and their best player, so I think he’s earned the right to move on to City, especially since VW (the owners of the club), can probably induce City to pay the 33.5 million, or something close to it. That is probably what we will get for Tevez, so it’s like an even swap, as far as the economics are concerned.
He’s the perfect player for us, and I think he would fit nicely up top above Mancini’s beloved “diamond” midfield. Let’s make the deal now and reintroduce some certainty and stability back into our squad, as there is the pressing matter of competing for the top spots in the Prem. Thank you, Carlos, for all the goals and great memories, but this club must move on from him and do so quickly if we are to succeed and make a CL spot.

proudtobeblue, do you mean that the new addition Gai Assulin will not put his heart in playing for city? He is a Jewish Israeli playing for a Muslim-owned club “as you called it” – I give you one advice: STOP referring to religion this is SPORT – grow up and don’t be stupid! Thanks – DAN
