A word of advice to Ryan Babel and Glen Johnson – sshhh…
Howard Webb MBE
As you read this, Ryan Babel and Glen Johnson are probably sitting in an office, mumbling to Kenny Dalglish that Twitter is like, sort of this thing, where you write stuff that you think, and then people can, like, you know, read it on the internet and stuff.
After SHH (shaking his head) in disbelief, Dalglish will almost certainly SHHA (shake his head again) while wondering if he really is as out of touch as some people think.
Glen Johnson started the twatting with an ill-conceived rant against everyone’s favourite Saturday afternoon buffoon, Paul Merson.
After some less than complimentary comments from Merson about his ‘defending,’ Johnson – presumably after a quick trip to the ‘Controversy’ section of Merson’s Wikipedia page – impressively managed to cover every single character flaw of the former Arsenal midfielder IN LESS THAN 140 CHARACTERS!
”Comments from alcoholic drug-abusers are not really gonna upset me. The only reason he’s on that show is coz he gambled all his money away. The clown!”
Babel, clearly not too happy at having his King of the Anfield Twitterers crown so emphatically taken from him, then posted that hilarious photo of Howard Webb wearing a Man Utd shirt (because he sent-off Steven Gerrard and gave United a penalty, see?) before writing:
“And they call him one of the best referees? That’s a joke. SMH.”
After the realising the error of his ways – thanks to a possible FA investigation – he posted this heartbreaking apology:
“My apology if they take my posted pic seriously. This is just an emotional reaction after losing an important game. Sorry Howard Webb.”
