Make money during Darren Bent’s Aston Villa debut
OMG he joined Villa! When did THIS happen?
So far, the big story from this January’s transfer window has been that of Darren Bent joining Aston Villa. Many years from now, people will no doubt write poetry, songs, or even make movies about it. Alternatively, people won’t remember.
Either way, if you’re the kind of girl/guy who enjoys watching your money multiply, you might be interested in a few key words about the bearded one from our brothers from mostly different mothers at Ladbrokes…
Darren Bent’s fine record against Manchester City makes him a great bet at 9/4 to score against them on his debut for Aston Villa.
Bent recently signed from Sunderland on a deal that could be worth a total of £24m and arrives with the task of becoming the predatory striker that Aston Villa have arguably been lacking since Dwight Yorke.
It is 11/4 in the Premier League betting odds that Aston Villa beat Manchester City and Bent’s scoring exploits against the opposition make this more than possible.
In ten career appearances against Manchester City, Bent has found the target six times, while he has netted three times in his last four showdowns with them.
He also struck on his only appearance against Manchester City this season, with his stoppage-time penalty helping Sunderland land a 1-0 success.
Bent is 7/1 to score first again.
Meanwhile, the 26-year-old also has a decent record of scoring on his debut for a new club as it is a feat he achieved for both Charlton and Sunderland.
Although a debut goal would be satisfaction enough for Bent, he could endear himself to the Villa fans even further if he registers a hat-trick.
Bent’s betting odds are 40/1 to score a hat-trick against Manchester City, which would be the fourth of his senior career and just a second in the Premier League.
Aston Villa are undefeated in their last three home games against Manchester City, but have only beaten the opposition twice in their last 14 meetings at Villa Park in all competitions.
This fact may lead to Manchester City’s odds being on the lengthy side at 1/1, particularly as they seek to retain their position at the head of the Premier League standings.
