Blackpool did the best of the 4 as they kept Adam so will stay in the Premiership – he is simply THAT important to how Blackpool play.

Newcastle sold their best player but for over twice what they would have got in any other circumstances. They’ve lost his goals which they desperately need to stay up but he is injured so cant help anyone at the moment. Will only be the awesome sale it appears on paper if Newcastle avoid the drop.

Liverpool stuck a monstrous price tag on their want-away out-of-form star striker and Chelsea paid up. No brainer. Have bought in 2 quality replacements but paid way over the odds. They will be a better team as a result of this but at what price? Can they still afford to improve the rest of the team?

Was Abramovich’s betting shop closed or something? Chelsea’s bank manager put a big wad of cash on red for a player who on his day is close to unplayable, but it is a big gamble. There haven’t been many days when the ‘unplayable’ Torres has turned up in the last 12 months so the question is, which Torres have they bought? Ineffective sulk or lethal predator?

What the hell was Torres supposed to do? He was gone from the first kick off of the damn year, have you not seen him moping about the pitch like a sullen schoolboy? if he wants out then take the money and tell him to piss off. Chelsea will ruin him!! Anyone remember Schecheno or what his name.

If you add the 7mil from the Babel deal that Liverpool only spent 1mil in the transfer window. Honestly, getting a sulking, always scowling Torres out isn’t such a bad thing it’s just the fact we sold him to a big rival, that’s the thing that worries me. Hopefully Chelsea gets breaks the new UEFA Financial Fair Play rule and the little Judas doesn’t even play in the CL. That’d be the day…

Any one who says that Suarez was a gamble is madd. This is a scoring machine plus he’s Uruguayan, they’re known for their never say die attitude which is why the fans will absolutely love him. I agree on Carroll, I don’t think he’s worth 35 but we bought him and all we expect is sacrifice from him. I hope the people commenting on top aren’t liverpool fans. Have a more positive attitude. wankers.

Don’t be surprised if Torres misses the rest of the season with injury after Saturday’s match against Liverpool. Dirty Suarez may do him just to become a hit with the fans

Carroll is a great buy but we panicked and paid waaaaaaay too much at 35M. He’ll work hard score loads and take the pressure of Stevie G a bit.
Suarez is a big gamble that I wouldn’t have taken. I doubt he’ll do well and end up on the bench at best keeping N’gog company.
Torres wasn’t earning his keep and I’d rather have 50M than his lacklustre performances. I hope he likes the view from the Chelsea bench!!

So after all, Liverpool gets rid of Torres, gains Carrol and Suarez — and it costs them around 7M pounds. I think the new boys have a lot to do to justify that price tag.

Seeing as Liverpool isn’t realistically challenging for anything but a Europaleague spot this year, I think the Carrol money could have been sat on, waiting for a better chance to spend.

Agree that burning the shirt is poor. Those are the people who deluded themselves by clinging to the “armband” and thinking Torres was anything more than a hot, but high-maintenance girlfriend.

His departure is part of the cleansing process. I can’t say I’m thrilled that the money was spent on the distasteful Suarez and a second rate striker.

It’s going to hurt far more when Stevie G leaves before anyone from the youth system develops into the role.
