An overpriced striker to Spurs, Vucinic to Blackburn, and more…
Beautiful women will be at the Oscars…
The Oscars are only a few days away – eek! But bloody Banksy seems determined to ruin the thing for everyone by doing his art/vandalism/graffiti just a few yards from the venue.
Come on, Banksy. Nobody wants to see Mickey Mouse molesting a bikini clad woman.
Anyway, here’s what we know about the transfer rumours from the Lads and Stunnas at The Sun and the boys and girls at the Daily Mirror…
According to The Sun, Tottenham Hotspurs’ time spent demolishing an Italian at the top table of European football has seen them become favourites to sign a striker – no, really!
Despite spending most of the summer and January trying to bring in a forward, Harry Reknapp’s wheeling and dealing managed to get him… well, no-one. Now it looks as though Redknapp could be about to offer £14 million for 30-year-old striker Luis Fabiano.
Roma and AC Milan are also rumoured to be interested, but Spurs are apparently willing to offer more than the Italian teams to Fabiano’s current club, Sevilla. Fabiano also said:
“I see my cycle with Seville as finished and want to experience something new.”
Quite frankly, £14 million seems a shed load of cash to be spending on a 30-year-old who’s past his best. Admittedly, he’s probably better than Robbie Keane, but £14 million? The Spoiler says… IT’S NOT GOING TO HAPPEN!
Elsewhere, The Daily Mirror reckons Shaun Wright-Phillips will leave Manchester City in the summer, while Blackburn are allegedly after Roma striker Mirko Vucinic, who they’ll bid £20 million for in the summer – that’s not going to happen either.
Oh, and Barcelona are planning to build a new youth training centre about 35 yards from Chelsea’s one in Surrey. Here’s a link to an excellent article on their current one in actual Barcelona – it sounds better than Hogwarts.
