Make money with a bet on Man Utd’s game against Crawley

There may be more chance of there being an exciting game in the Europa League than Crawley beating Manchester United, but our buddies at Ladbrokes reckon there’s still some readies to be made.

Here’s what they have to say about the most exciting tie in a weekend of massively boring FA Cup ties…

Sir Alex Ferguson will take his chances and field the same team that struggled to victory over Southampton in the fifth round, for the sixth round tie with Crawley on Saturday.

Crawley are out to create history and there is no doubt they will be fired up for the biggest clash in the club’s history, and with Ferguson fielding his second string, there are no guarantees that Man Utd will win.

Match Odds

Understandably Manchester United are the 1/16 favourites to beat a team that are 93 places lower than them in the pecking order, and it’s hard to make a case for Crawley winning other than echoing the old cliché “the magic of the FA Cup makes it so unpredictable”.

Crawley would become the first non-league team to reach the quarter-finals of the FA Cup since the war, but at 20/1 to beat Man Utd, it seems highly unlikely.

However Man Utd have struggled against non-league opposition in recent times, they drew at home to Exeter in 2005 and drew at Burton Albion in 2006, and those believers in FA Cup magic can back the draw at 12/1.

Total Goals

Crawley are unbeaten in 11 but have failed to score in three of their last six games and a Man Utd clean sheet is available at 4/9, and Ferguson’s side are 1/2 to win to nil.

Both of Man Utd’s recent draws with lower league teams have been goalless, and with Ferguson fielding the likes of Bebe, Gabriel Obertan and Javier Hernandez up front, backing under 2.5 goals at 5/2 looks a great bet.

Javier Hernandez is the obvious threat to Crawley goalkeeper Michael Kuipers, and the Mexican striker is 3/1 to score first and 8/15 to score any time.

A £25 stake on Hernandez scoring first would return £100. New customers can sign up here for a free FA Cup bet worth £25.
