An exciting poll!

Is Gabriel Obertan ever going to be a player?

Obertan – a hat wearer

The Spoiler is big enough to hold its hand up when it’s wrong. In the past there may have been mentions of Sir Alex Ferguson being mental to keep Cristiano Ronaldo after he WINKED. We’ve also said Didier Drogba was the biggest waste of money ever and Newcastle definitely wouldn’t get relegated.

So, in the spirit of making outrageously early judgements… Gabriel Obertan looks a bit rubbish, doesn’t he?

Pretty much the whole United team were about as much use as a chocolate fireguard/teapot combo against Crawley, but – from The Spoiler’s point of view – Obertan has yet to show anything to suggest he could be something other than a future Newcastle United substitute.

He allegedly asked for a transfer a few weeks ago and according to the ever reliable Daily Star, Sir Alex Ferguson is ready to turf him and Bebe (who we’re reserving judgement on) out in the summer. They also say something about Katie Price’s kidnap hell.

The Spoiler feels a bit bad asking the question because he seems like a decent enough chap, but sometimes you have to be cruel to be… well, it’s not really being kind. It’s just cruel. Anyway, we’d love to know what you think about the matter.

So… here’s a poll! Your thoughts will now be ruthlessly condensed into a number but your sense of individuality can be reasserted by commenting below.

He’s shown flashes of promising talent but he just doesn’t get on the pitch enough. Man U. should just loan him to someone fir the mean time.

Obertan was thorougly uninspiring in the match against Crawley, but I’d venture to say Bebe looked even worse. I think I remember one play where he managed to get a cross in, otherwise it seemed to be all dribbling into people or tripping over the ball all by himself.

He scored some goals for Man United.. we haven’t seen the best of him yet.

Did anyone else see the shot of Obertan and Bebe engrossed in their gadgets during the game against Wigan? Giggs is in between them intently watching the game, while Bebe is on his phone and Obertan listening to his iPod. Granted I’m sure they weren’t doing that the entire match, but sure doesn’t help improve one’s very mediocre image.
