Glad someone else noticed that linesman, who was wrong 4 out of 4 times they brought up the replay on him. To me, that type of ineptitude–i.e., where he is consistently missing objective decisions–is far more bewildering than any one high-profile judgment call from Webb or Busacca. How did he get promoted to the highest level of officiating without being able to make simple offsides calls correctly on a regular basis?

As for Spurs, I think they deserved to win and calling them lucky would be an injustice. That said, once they face someone from outside Italy, where the current standard of play is a little static, they’ll have quite a bit more trouble. Schalke they could beat, due to a lack of home-field advantage on Schalke’s part (did anyone notice how dead their stadium sounded yesterday?) but I wouldn’t give them odds against anyone else who seems likely to advance.

They definitely lost some of their glory compared to what was expected of them. Getting a result, 0-0, may be appreciated especially for a team with their history, but Milan had a few really good chances that could as well have lead to a goal. The reactions would have been VERY different just over slight margins like that.

If they get Barcelona, they’ll probably get battered. I’d also expect them to lose against Man United, Real Madrid and probably Bayern. But they have a good chance for the semis if they get Schalke or Shakhtar (they’re not crap, no, but no gods either).

We got sucked into a defensive game because 451does not work and our results prove it. Harry is suffering the same problem we had with King not playing a fit player and playing a name . Jermaine Defoe should have played and the one person we are badly missing is Huddlestone he gets Bale and Lennon away Gomes needs to stop spilling shots and hold the ball the times he caused panick only helped Milans confidents to attack . What must Defoe think he scores two crackers and then gets dropped for a player not fit two players should have sat on the bench Pienaar and Van there replacements should have bean Defoe and Bale.

Have to admit that that linesman was shocking. First half he gave 3 offsides against AC Milan which were all onside, and then the “8-yards onside” incident second half against Spurs. Poor.
