How not to respond to a bit of time wasting…

Yea, that ought to do it…

Serie A seems to have lost a bit of its sexy gloss over the past few years.

When The Spoiler was a nipper the Italian league was the papa of European football. A Sunday afternoon doze with a full belly and Football Italia on telly was one of the biggest treats of the week.

Now it just doesn’t grab us in the same way. The lack of James Richardson (*swoon*) may be something to do with it, but it’s probably because the football is a bit pony.

However, they do have some brilliantly mental players, like Lazio’s Stefan Radu, who decided the best way to deal with Roma’s time wasting was to headbutt Fábio Simplício…

Il calcio isn’t what it was and the empty stands yesterday, pathetic. But much of it may have to do with the insanity that is called Tessera del Tifoso.

I watched the last ten minutes of this match, and I have to say, I think the MLS has better quality football right now. It was a huge group of overpaid ninnies chasing the referee around bitching non stop. At least in an MLS match, they actually play some football.
