Another bird killed in South American football match

WHEN WILL IT END?!!!1

Another one of our winged friends has fallen fowl (sorry) of the manly rough and tumble of a professional football match.

During a Paulista Championship match between Gremio and Ponte Preta Prudente, a Southern Lapwing casually chilling in the penalty area was trampled over by some leaden-footed ox of a defender.

Despite being carried to safety by match referee Rodrigo Guarizo Ferreira do Amaral, the chick (yes it was only a baby :(   ) later died from internal bleeding.

You are wrong. The right is Ponte Preta against Gremio Prudente.
