An all English quarter-final! - Chelsea vs Manchester United
Battle of the media-darling managers! – Real Madrid vs Tottenham Hotspur
Genuine upset potential! – Barcelona vs Shaktar
The other one! - Inter vs Schalke
Semi-Final draw:
- Real Madrid/Tottenham Hotspur v Barcelona/Shakhtar Donetsk
- Internazionale/Schalke v Chelsea/Manchester United

yes, just like man united’s easy path last year. remember how relieved people were to play bayern and then to face either lyon or bordeux? people have such short memories.

Shakhtar have been playing well. Arsenal was never going to surprise Barca but I’m picking Shakhtar vs Chelsea as the most interesting final.

Real would have to defeat Barca (which they have not figured out how to do lately e.g. 0-5) or potential Barca killer Shakhtar. Tall order just to get to the final for Real.

Funny how people just MAKE UP bs about Barca supposedly getting easy draws. They’ve gotten some good ones and some bad ones. It all adds up in the end. Apparently getting Arsenal is the “usual” gift, while getting FC Copenhagen or Marseille (which English-based readers would rank miles behind Arsenal)?
As for the rest, Real will likely beat Spurs, they’ve lost the magic after the Milan matches. United may beat Chelsea ’cause Chelsea are old bags. Barca will do the job against Shakhtar and Inter can’t complain about the draw if they lose out against Shakhtar.

arsenal and then shakhtar, I thought this was supposed to be europe’s premier competition
and brian, bayern are surely a harder draw than arsenal and lyon a harder one than shakhtar?
