Premier League sides limp out of Europa League

A night of despair in the Channel 5 cup

A goal from Aleksandar Kolarov wasn’t enough to stop Man City following Liverpool out of the Europa League back door last night, as Roberto Mancini’s men crashed to a 2-1 aggregate defeat against Dynamo Kyiv.

Much of the blame (well, all of the blame. After some detailed character dissection, certain members of the Bluemoon fan forum have diagonsed him as being an actual sociopath in need of professional help) for City’s defeat will lay at the feet of Mario Balotelli, whose red card in the 36th minute gave his team an uphill battle to overturn the two goal deficit.

Elsewhere Liverpool could only manage a 0-0 home draw with Braga playing terrible route-one football in a game The Spoiler wasn’t stupid enough to watch.

Highlights after the jump, yo.
