Dave Beckham has been out in America filming an advert for brown-sugar-water brand Pepsi with Sofia Vergara. Beckham did some keepy-uppys and looked handsome, while Vergara lounged around and looked beautiful. That’s the sort of stuff what happens when you buy into the Pepsi lifestyle.

Anyway, here’s what else we know about what’s going on in the world of football gossip from the Lads and Stunnas at The Sun and the Ladies and Gents at the at the broadsheets…

Wesley Sneijder is joining Manchester United! It’s true! Honestly. A ‘source close to the player’ confirmed that the Dutch midfielder is looking to move to Old Trafford said The Daily Mirror.

Unfortunately for United fans, a ‘source close to the player’ generally means some schleper who met the player once at a party they were working at. At best.

In other lies news, Italian paper Gazzetta dello Sport reckons Gareth Bale is going to leave Spurs at the end of the season because Harry Redknapp might be interested in Brazilian left-sided player Michel Bastos. See? He’s already getting a new replacement in for when Spurs don’t get back into the Champions League. Geddit?

Anyway, here’s some actual direct quotes from another Brazilian. Speaking to Sky Sports News, Neymar said:

“Chelsea’s a great club. It’s a dream of every player to play at Chelsea. If one day it happens, I will be very happy to come.”

That’s something at least.

International weeks aren’t much fun, are they?

In June 2008, Wesley was supposed to leave Real Madrid for Man Utd. He said, “I’m flattered to be linked to Manchester United…but it’s not happening. End of story.”

Last summer, he was rumoured to leave Inter Milan for MUFC to which he said, “My heart is in Milan. With Inter, I won everything last season and there’s a lot more to win.”

I doubt Mr. Wesley Cabau van Kasbergen will be England-bound unless Mourinho is too.
