No he didn't

Again – he didn’t

There are times in life when not much is going on. God knows The Spoiler has had its fair share of days when the most exciting bit of news we’ve come across is that Blackpool might be trying to get Wayne Routledge on loan.

However, considering the World’s Most Wanted Man was shot dead a few hours ago, the fact there’s been a collective stiffy in Middle England because of the Royal Wedding and there’s going to be a vote on changing the way we elect our leaders in a few a hours, The Spoiler assumed there would be more than enough real news going down to keep The Daily Mail website going.

Apparently not…

Basically, you know that video of Kevin McNaughton running into Sian Massey that The Spoiler was a bit slow in putting up 24 HOURS AGO? Well, The Daily Mail reckons it’s worth being their top story today.

They’ve gone with a whole page spread usually reserved for stories like the assassination of Osama Bin Laden or when local bin collections are halved because of immigrants.

They ask the question ‘was it a deliberate act of violence?’ Although it’s not really a question. It’s more of a cleverly-ish disguised statement with a question mark caveat so they can’t get sued.

The piece is then peppered with lovely phrases like ‘violently knocked to the ground’ and ‘hit with such force that her head snaps back.’

They then go to back up their belief that McNaughton assaulted Massey by quoting some of the most reliable and informed people on God’s green earth – YouTube users. One said:

“He makes the challenge on the Boro player and then deliberately side steps and increases his speed into the path of Sian Massey before using his body weight to barge her over.

“She’s lucky not to have any broken bones.”

They decided not to quote another, who said:

“hard as fuck him like picking on a lass at 3-0 down. No wonder he plays for a shit inbred welsh club. hahahahahahahahahahahahaha enjoy Donnie next season you welsh wankers.”

Anyway, they do redress the balance by quoting a Cardiff City spokesperson and McNaughton’s agent (both of whom say it’s absolutely accidental) 15 paragraphs down, below six photos and a video.

Really, guys? Really? REALLY? The Spoiler is the first to put the boot into footballers when it’s deserved but this is effing ridiculous – he collides with her when trying to get the ball. Simple as that.

In an ideal world he would have apologised, but that’s the extent of it. Massey was fine and got on with her job. No story. Nothing. Nadda.

Basically, Daily Mail – f*ck off. Stop feigning concern for Massey and stop using absolutely ANY excuse to paint every footballer as a complete scumbag – surely there are enough REAL opportunities?

Anyway, rant over. What do you think? The Spoiler isn’t expecting universal agreement, so let us know what you think with a considered comment below…

He definitely ran into her deliberately. He alters his path around the player and then accelerates into her. Tosser

How the fuck didn’t he mean it.. You want to be an absolute prick to think otherwise

I was at the game, and he changes direction to try to keep the ball in, that camera angle doesn’t show it, but it was clear to anyone with a clear view. Including the referee and Sian Massey herself. Once he collided with her, he was never going to be able to catch it, so get’s up and gets back into position.

He definitely meant it, I mean it’s not like he was trying to keep the ball in play.

The other day I was walking my elderly mother home from the shops and across the road who do I see? Kevin McNaughton. He runs across the road and barges her to the ground without apologising or helping her up and carries on his way.
I then saw him tip a few people out of their wheelchairs and steal a bike off a young boy.

I was not at the game like Alex…but it looks like he changes direction and runs into her. Not that I am agreeing with The Daily Mail…they are Sh*te!

But from the vid…it looks bad.

doesn’t daily mail come off looking a bit sexist? male refs get roughed around their fair share and it’s never labeled assault. camera angles can be deceiving

youtube anything like “ref gets nailed” and enjoy the next few hours
