At last!

Kenny Dalglish signs a permanent contract – happy, Liverpool fans?

The first time he signed for Liverpool…

If the news that Gordon Strachan was accused of being a bi-sexual coke fiend came as a bit of a shock to you, then prepare to be brought hurtling back down to earth with the least surprising bit of news you’ll hear this week – Kenny Dalglish is now the permanent Liverpool manager.

Dalglish has signed a new three year deal with the Reds which means that, as you read this, tabloid picture editors are hastily putting together Photoshoped pictures of King Kenny with a crown, while the sub-editors try and squeeze the word ‘coronation’ into a headline…

There was never any real doubt this would happen, was there? John Henry seems like a man who knows how to keep people happy and if there’s one thing that’s guaranteed to make Liverpool supporters happy, it’s having Dalglish stay and continue his good work.

Dalglish was pretty chuffed, while Henry had this to say:

“Kenny is a legendary Liverpool figure both as a supremely gifted footballer and successful manager,” Henry said in a statement.

“Since returning in January he has shown extraordinary leadership and the ability to bring the best out of so many people associated with the club.

“It was obvious to us very early on that the atmosphere surrounding the club had been transformed by his presence. No-one else could have produced such a response.”

With Dalglish now signed on and some rather tidy-looking young players coming through, things are looking rather rosy at Anfield.

What do Liverpool fans think? Happy? Thrilled? Looking forward to next season already? Let us know what you think with a comment below…

Great news for all connected with LFC. Handled in the right way, and announced just before the last home game – which will keep us in Europe.

We look forward to some top signings!

he was allways going to be appointed but now that has happend lets get onto a more serious issue when queen elizabeth thinks about the honours list at the end of the year and dishes out mbe’s obe’s and cbe’s one thing has to happen she has to tell king kenny to get on his knees and bow his head get out that 3foot sword and ? no not cut his head off but put the sword on those shoulders and say them magic words arise sir kenny dalglish theres no one who deserves this more in british football hes a man who has had more ups and downs in football than a 12 hour ride on the pepsi max nothing would please me more than to hear people call him sir in his interviews next season come on mam make it happen

All hail King Kenny! The last piece of the puzzle is if we get a game-changing player in the summer (which Ashley Young is not quite). Someone that makes sure our rating in FIFA12 is 5 stars instead of the 4.5 or less we’ve been getting since forever lol. But seriously, an awesome young winger that we can plug into the starting 11 immediately along with some bench flexbility and depth. So we can wipe that smug grin off the ManUre fans by equalling 19 next year and seriously challenge for CL the year after that.
