Dont feel bad, most american football fans have forgotten it as well.

One nice and meaningless goal in another mediocre season surely is worth the 250 million investment in the worst flop in sports history.

As for the announcers, its called overcompensating.
Everything Becky does is jacked up 1000% so when he does a back pass it is followed by a 3min description about how world class skills are needed to back pass it to a fullback.

@No Holligans, it must me an American thing. Our baseball announcers tend to do it when I fielder makes a nice catch (at least, the ones I listen to). Maybe this has translated over to football.
