REVEALED! The teams who’ll be relegated from the Premier League

Get the accumulators on…

If you’re getting a bit impatient for the sure-to-be-thrilling final day of Premier League football this Sunday then fear not! The Spoiler has handily provided this final league table a full two days early.

We’ve conducted an in-depth (for The Spoiler) bit of research and have produced the above table that shows how the bottom of the Premier League will DEFINITELY look after Sunday’s games.

Here’s the science part…

The only game in which the teams know a win is guaranteed to keep them up is the clash between Wolves and Blackburn. Mick McCarthy’s side have been in decent form over recent weeks and have lost just one of their previous six at Molineux.

With Rovers having the third worst away record in the Premier League, it’s hard to see them getting anything at Wolves.

The Spoiler’s prediction: Wolves 2-0 Blackburn

Right, Blackpool head to Old Trafford to play a Man Utd side that – as Sir Fergie confirmed earlier – will feature Patrice Evra, Paul Scholes, Anderson and Dimitar Berbatov. United have dropped just two points at home this term and have only conceded two goals at home on a final day in the Premier League era.

(BONUS QUESTION! – Name the only two players to score at OT on the final day of a Premier League season… Answers below, please)

Despite Blackpool having the sixth best away record in the league they should still lose.

The Spoiler’s prediction: Man Utd 3-1 Blackpool

Okay, Birmingham are at Spurs. Harry Redknapp’s side haven’t won a single game against the current bottom four and drew with the Blues in December. HOWEVER! Alex McLeish’s side haven’t beaten a team above them in the league away from home all season.

The Spoiler’s prediction: Spurs 1-1 Birmingham

Finally, Wigan head to Stoke in their must-win clash. Stoke will be a bit down in the dumps after their FA Cup final defeat to Man City and will probably still be drunk/waiting to go on holiday.
Stoke though, have lost just one game to a bottom-half side at the Birtannia all season and have never lost to Wigan in the Premier League.

The Spoiler’s prediction: Stoke 2-2 Wigan

So, once again, here’s the final table (West Ham will draw at home to Sunderland in the most boring game in history)…

So, whaddya think? Are we massively wrong? Or should The Spoiler get a 10% cut of all winning bets? Let us know what you think with a comment below. Oh, and don’t forget the bonus question…

Tevez and Kevin Gallagher are the two scorers at OT on the final day of the season.

    Not according to our source…

One of them is right. One of them is wrong.

Happy(ish) to be proved wrong though.

Les Ferdinand scored for Spurs on last day of the season but United went on to win the game and the league? Unless that was at WHL.

I think you guys got it right but I hope you are wrong. I hope by some miracle Blackpool can stay up, they are an entertaining bunch and I believe their coach is good for the EPL

given your comment about West Ham how can anyone take the resy of this ‘analysis’ seriously.
West Ham will win – and win convincingly – against a Sunderland team who were on holiday weeks ago.
    West Ham to win
    Man Ure to win
    Spuds to win
    Wolves to win
    Wigan to win

    Relegated –
    West Ham, Birmingham and Blackpool
