Benzema to Arsenal, Nasri to Man Utd and more…
Lily – angelic
So, Kings of Leon singer, Caleb Followill, recently got married to Victoria’s Secret model Lily Aldridge – congratulations!
Anyway, we haven’t got time to dwell on trivial matters like love and marriage – there’s plenty of interesting transfer stuff doing the rounds this morning that urgently needs to be addressed.
Here’s what we know about transfer gossip from the Lords and Ladies at The Daily Telegraph and the Lads and Stunnas at The Sun…
Starting with The Sun, they reckon that Arsene Wenger could be about to launch a bid for Real Madrid and France striker Karim Benzema – and they even have actual, real quotes to back up their story! Wenger had this to say about the 23-year-old:
“Signing him does not seem impossible. He’s a player that I like.
“He’s intelligent in his movement, he is capable of combining well with others and making a difference, and of doing individual moves as well.
“So, for me, he’s a player who’s at the top level in the world.”
The Sun fancies Real value him at £35 million. That seems a bit steep to us and we thinks he’ll leave for around £20 million and sign for… Arsenal!
In the same story, The Sun say that Gael Clichy could be on his way as his contract runs out next summer. That’s not something worth losing any sleep over though, is it?
In free news, The Metro thinks Manchester United could make a cheeky little bid for Samir Nasri. This story is based on another story in French paper L’Equipe. No quotes, no logic, not even a ‘source’ – this one will not happen. Not in this lifetime, sister.
Elsewhere, there are reports that Chelsea and Manchester City are chasing the £40 million rated Sergio Aguero of Atletico Madrid. Although any time a player thought to be worth that kind of money becomes available they’re going to be mentioned aren’t they?
And in three-word (and some letters) transfer news…
