Mamma Mia!

Norwich use xenophobia to sell their new football kit

Oh, Grant…

Those bloody Italians, ay? You hate them, don’t you? But you can’t quite work out why you loathe them so much – is that right?

Thankfully – in a promo for their new kit – Norwich City have shown us the reason we all hate Italians so much is because they’re always diving and drinking espressos and looking in the mirror and riding scooters and stuff.

Nice one, Norwich! Up yours, Italy!

Think you need to look up a definition of xenophobia. Looks more like a tongue-in-cheek celebration of Italian culture to me.

Oh how ‘sad’ you are Spoiler!

We canary fans & the club don’t “hate” Italians. The video is an affection look at the Italian connection of the new kit supplier, & no doubt with their approval. Mahogany is right. Its a bit of light hearted fun & nicely done.

What I would agree to”‘disliking’ is folk who try to stir up trouble where there isn’t any – that’s you guys btw. Cheap & tacky!

What a load of old squit, as we would say here in Norfolk. Take it for what it is, a light-hearted and affectionate take on the Italian way of things. Its classy, funny and nicely done. Oh, and by the way, check out our fab training ground.

    That was very cool.
Obviously I don’t mean your stupid comments but the clip of the new Norwich strip, really good well done Norwich.

I completely agree with this post. This video may have been made without the intention to offend and in a ‘light-hearted’ manner, but it still uses offensive and completely unnecessary stereotypes to make the point that the shirt is designed by an Italian firm.

If the point was to use the line ‘A little bit of Italy in Norwich’, then why not highlight all the amazing things Italy is renowned for such as its architecture, art, food, fashion?

Instead they chose to highlight a narrow-minded, unfair and offensive set of stereotypes about Italians and Italian football, making it blatantly obvious that whoever thought this up has a mind only capable of similar diatribe.

Oh, and to all you cunts that think that this ad is somewhow ‘funny’, ‘classy’ or ‘nicely done’…I hope none of you ever have children on to which you can instil your attitudes, as it is people like you that put back human progress

You talk to your kids with that language you potty mouthed hypocrite?

I think you’ll find if you bothered to do any research that the advert was made by Errea, those same “bloody Italians” you seem to think we hate.

I’m pretty sure their Sales Director wouldn’t have ok’d the video if Errea didn’t like it. But what would he know that “bloody Fabrizio.”

Fabrizio Taddei, Errea Sales Director commented: “We are delighted to be the Technical Kit Supplier of Norwich City. Having worked so closely with Norwich over the past few months, with the entire clothing range being designed together and the final choice always being made by the club, we feel that this is the start of a partnership that will last for many years.”
