Jack Warner resigns as FIFA vice-president! Corruption is no more!

“But through it all, when there was doubt, I ate it up and spit it out…”

It’s a start, but FIFA’s statement about Jack Warner’s resignation hardly smacks of an organisation who will go to the ends of the earth to uncover any dubious dealings and dodgy doings. They said:

“As a consequence of Mr Warner’s self-determined resignation, all ethics committee procedures against him have been closed and the presumption of innocence is maintained.”

Bloody hell, FIFA. At least pretend like you’re trying to be a bit less scumbaggy…

This arrangement is actually quite common in the corporate world vv out-of-court settlements. Said scumbag does not have to admit being a total douche, and receives a large undisclosed payment if he “quits” and promises never to speak the truth about the incident. No harm done, unless you care about honesty, integrity–naive concepts like that.
