Wickham to Sunderland, Thiago not to Man Utd and more…
Klum – overdressed
It’s been a slightly busier couple of days with regards to all the transfer shenanigans but something just isn’t grabbing us at the moment. It’s not very… y’know… GRRR!
Basically, our appetite has yet to be sufficiently whetted for the upcoming season. Even the revelation that Heidi Klum still likes to get all double-R dirrty in the bedroom hasn’t roused us from our mid-summer stupor.
There have been one or two things that have pricked our interest though. Here’s what we know about rumours and actual news from the tiny tabloids and the big broadsheets…
Firstly, Connor Wickham has finally moved to the Premier League and to Sunderland. He cost £8million which could rise to £12million depending on ‘factors’. Toby jug-alike Steve Bruce has this to say about the 18-year-old…
“A number of top sides have been chasing Connor for some time now, so naturally we are absolutely delighted he has chosen to come to Sunderland.
“He’s still very young, but at 6ft 3in he’s a physical presence. With his height and style of play, he will offer us a threat in front of goal and complement our existing strikers.
“We have been watching him for a while now and he is improving and developing all the time. He’s a great prospect and I’m sure our supporters will love watching him play.”
The £8-12million strikes The Spoiler as a bit of a bargain in the current Liverpool-corrupted transfer market for young Englishmen and he should do well – given time.
Alleged Manchester United target Thiago Alcántara has just given Fergie the finger and signed a new three-year deal at Barcelona. The buy-out clause in the new contract is €90million.
Still fancy him, Sir Alex?
More intriguingly, talkSPORT are reporting Barcelona could bid for Nani if they fail to get Alexis Sanchez. They’ll get him though and Nani will either stay where he is or move to Inter Milan as part of a deal for Wesley Sneijder.
If we say it enough maybe it will happen.
And in three word transfer news…
Neymar to Chelsea
Neymar to Man City
Drogba to stay
Gervinho to Arsenal
